Jobs

There is always some flexibility in the budget to support young researchers who are interested in joining our research-team. They will have to convince us that they have the talent to contribute. For us  a contribution is always one that will find its way into scientific articles, published in internationally refereed journals.

New vacancies!!!!

Within the framework of Project No. 17-72-30036 (“Interaction of Radiation with Quantum Devices”, T.M. Klapwijk is PI), the Laboratory of Quantum Detectors, Moscow State University of Education announces three postdoctoral positions for the period 2017-2020:

Senior Researcher in experimental physics

This position involves the development of an experimental setup for shot-noise measurements with a bandwidth of 2-3 GHz at cryogenic temperatures performed in a 3He/4He dilution refrigerator and 1.5 K – 4.2 K cold inserts. Fast noise measurements under DC+RF excitations will permit the extraction of inelastic scattering rates and diffusion rates in the normal state of superconducting nano-bridges and hybrid nano-devices. In addition, the possibility of local noise spectroscopy under DC+RF excitations will be investigated.

The applicant should have a PhD degree in physics, be aged below 35, have advanced skills in measurements of superconducting nano-devices and/or RF engineering at cryogenic conditions, and  have a basic understanding of nano-lithography.  Advanced knowledge of English is mandatoryfor the applicant.

The work on the project will be supervised by dr. Vadim Khrapai.

The salary is 50 000 R per month.

The applications should send an email to t.m.klapwijk@tudelft.nl and v.s.khrapai@gmail.com

Senior Researcher in nanofabrication-technology    This position involves the design and fabrication of nano-devices, the characterization by studying their DC properties and optimising the fabrication route in collaboration with the experimentalists working on the project. The work should be carried out and documented in such a way that it leads to the publications of the applicant and contributions to publication of others.

The applicant should have a PhD degree in physics or comparable, be aged below 35, have advanced clean-room skills in photo- and e-beam lithography, e-beam and evaporation deposition, and plasma-etching techniques or be able to learn them quickly.  Advanced knowledge of English is mandatory for the applicant.

The work on the project will be supervised by dr. Georgii Fedorov.

The salary is 50 000 R per month.

The applications should send an email to t.m.klapwijk@tudelft.nl and gefedorov@mail.ru

Senior Researcher in theoretical physics

This position involves the development of a theory describing the reconstruction of spectral and kinetic properties of a superconductor under the influence of RF field. This includes the problem of Floquet (field-dressed) states in the clean and dirty limits, account for inelastic processes, calculation of non-linear electrodynamic response in ‘the quantum regime of depairing’, and the theoretical modeling of three- and four-wave mixing processes for kinetic-inductance parametric amplifiers and convertors.

The applicant should have a PhD degree in physics, be aged below 35, have advanced skills in the Keldysh Green’s function technique. Advanced knowledge of English is mandatory for the applicant.

The work on the project will be supervised by dr. Alexander Semenov.

The salary is 50 000 R per month.

The applications should send an email to t.m.klapwijk@tudelft.nl and av.semyonov@mpgu.edu
